Swirls and Wood: A Post For Umbreen

Blouse thrifted || Anne Klein pants: thrifted at Double Take || Shoes: Urban Outfitters || Earrings: Stella and Dot || Necklace: || Bracelets: Trustan & America and gifts from Mom

I haven't been very consistent with blog posting this week.
And I was thinking that maybe I'll take a break from the blog for a while. Maybe forever?
But last night, I saw my cousin/friend/doll-face Umbreen and mentioned this thought to her and she said "But I look forward to your blog posts."
And so this post is for you Umbers.

You never know how meaningful simple words, or a kind gesture or a sincere smile can be to the person on the receiving end. Since blogging often feels like a very solitary venture, I imagine that nobody is really interested if I don't post regularly. But Umbreen's sweet remark inspired me to fire up the laptop (something I haven't been doing these past few nights - uh, my laptop is pretty heavy - must downsize - anyway) and post this post for her.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  1. Natasha,

I look forward to your posts too! I would be sad if you stopped. I like a little of your sunshine and thoughtfulness every day. Perhaps you need to nudge the blog in a new direction? Maybe its perfect as it is. What does it give YOU?

  2. I also look forward your posts, I love how you combine fashion and style with real life topics that matter in every day life! I love your outfit, classic and chic! :)

    Take care,

    Daniella xox

  3. Your blog is great, don't stop. And this outfit: chic!

  4. Yeahyy ! I'm glad you did a posting and also love the outfit!

  5. Guuuurrrlll (I've drank entirely too much caffeine so please pardon that) you are looking fierce!

  6. Love that top! you have a wonderful smile:)
Maybe you could check up my post? :)

  7. I'm looking forward to seeing you incorporate your Eastern clothing into your everyday wardrobe, so I'm hoping you will feel inspired to keep posting. I haven't seen that look anywhere else. Also I'm stuck in California and I love to see others' winter outfits - and pictures in the snow!

  8. I look forward to your posts even though I don't comment all the time. I own several shalwar kameez and have been looking forward to seeing you style non-western clothing in creative ways. I always love the outfits you come up with, regardless.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  9. Aw I look forward to your blog posts as well. I hope you keep it up! Or at least come back after a break :)

    xo Jennifer

  10. I'm not big on commenting, but I check and enjoy your blog daily. As a fellow Torontonian, I like to see how someone in the same city is playing with style. I also enjoy reading your thoughts on things that aren't fashion-related.

  11. I completely understand the sentiment (I feel the same about my own blog) so I did want to delurk and tell you that I enjoy seeing your new posts in my reader.

  12. I hope you keep posting, because I also enjoy your posts! But I understand the sentiment of feeling of being out there on your own - it happens to me all the time!

    PS: I love your hair:)

  13. I absolutely respect whatever course your blogging needs to take, though wanted to tell you that in addition to so admiring your style and gorgeous photos, I would miss your smarts and cultural consciousness / feminist perspective among my regular reads.

You're allowed a break but please don't go. And u're supposed to blog about my future visit to Toronto and how we had dinner and
