Do you guys remember this post on Monday? I've introduced a new feature on the blog, where I recreate or reinterpret a style I've seen on another blog or on Pinterest. That top picture was posted on Riches for Rags, and I loved the simplicity of pairing khaki and grey, which I wouldn't normally do, since I gravitate towards more colour. It caught my eye, and I was inspired. What do you guys think?
Grey Dress from Zellers || Khaki Blazer from Glamorous on Yonge Street || Sparkly Flats from some no name shop at Yonge and Bloor || Black Bracelet from Mom || Necklace from India || Sunglasses from Kensington Market
Yesterday, I did a quick post in honour of Donna Summer, the 'Queen of Disco' who died at the age of 63. Summer and disco were far more relevant than modern day pop gurus or cultural snobs are willing to acknowledge. Disco became a music gave a main stream voice to many women, people of colour and gays, lesbians and transgendered. In its own way, it's a music of rebellion and liberation - just listen to the lyrics of "She works hard for the money" or "I will survive" and you'll get it.
Well, I think I'll listen to a lot of Donna Summer this weekend because I 'Love to Love' her.
Have a great weekend guys.
