Kensington Style and Girls on HBO

So earlier today, I posted the pictures of Umbreen, Sana and I going shopping for sunglasses and here's the follow up outfit post. Hope you enjoy.

So speaking of groups of girls, who watched the new HBO series premier "Girls"?
If you haven't heard about it, it's a show about 20-something women living in New York City. And while there are some obvious parallels between between that other New York based show Sex and The City, I actually think this show (at least based on one episode) is much more real, gritty, maybe a bit too much for me. How many bathroom scenes do you need in one episode?

But there have also been criticisms about the lead character being unappealing, mainly because she doesn't fit into a fairly narrow acceptable prototype of female lead on TV.

If you've watched the show, let me know what you think? And if you've chosen not to watch - why not?

  1. Love all of these looks! And I haven't actually seen or heard of "The Girls" ... I might need to check it out just for the sake of knowing what it is about!

  3. You all look amazing.

And I'm so glad you brought "Girls" up. I watched it for the first time this weekend and loved it. But, not unreservedly. The sex scene starring the main character was horrible to watch, but not because she's not the ideal beauty - it was just sad. And yes, I suppose a little graphic. I don't know; I'm definitely still going to watch it though. It does cross the line a bit; I don't think we needed that many bathroom scenes either, but maybe that's really what 24 year olds do now?

  5. Natasha, I'm addicted to you and your style :)

I haven't watched girls but I hate how far from reality shows like sex and the city are, life in NY is nowhere nearly as charming as the depictions on these tv shows. This is just coming from someone who was born and raised in NY....
