Purple Rain and The Walking Dead Season Finale

Thanks guys for all that great advice on yesterday's post about the books and what to do with them.

Are you a fan of the AMC TV series 'The Walking Dead'? How fantastic was last night's season finale? Overall, I think it's an excellent show, that brings up lots of interesting sociological and ethical questions. The ultimate "what would you do?" scenarios. However, my one criticism of the show would be about character development - or lack thereof. Rick's wife Lori - the object of desire for two men, a mother and pregnant again - just comes across as annoying and self righteous all the time. The women on the show have not been developed as well as they could be. And there's Glen, who in the very first two episodes was a total rock star, and fearless of the zombies, and this season he's been quivering and nervous in every single episode, the character isn't consistent.

And if you think that all this zombie stuff is just silly, well, I'll have you know May is Zombie Awareness Month. I'm letting you know several weeks in advance so that you can attend your local events that will help you prepare for the zombie apocalypse and you should probably buy gifts for that zombie lover in your life. I would do it otherwise we'll eat your brains.

  9. The dress is such a rich color. And while the walking dead seems like it would be a ridiculous show, people are saying it is good, so who knows.

  15. Hi! I was directed to your blog by Ariane of the blog "Montreal Style Sud-Est"--we've been looking for more cool Canadian bloggers. I happen to be a big fan of The Walking Dead AND Madmen. I've read the Walking Dead comics, so I will confess to being disappointed with a lot of the second season, but the last 3 episodes kicked ass. I completely agree about Lori, who is one of the MOST annoying female characters in a series ever. Best moment - the reveal of one of the most awesome characters in the comics; definitely looking forward to Season 3. Gorgeous purple dress!

  16. Oh, I am glad that someone else finds Lori extremely annoying. Her character set up both Rick and Shane for that showdown and yet she walks away from any responsibility. I hope the zombie's get her. And thanks for the tip about May being zombie month. I'll be prepared.
