On yesterday's post, I asked you guys what you thought about the Israeli government's new policy to ban images of underweight women in advertising. You had lots of interesting comments and I really appreciate your feedback.
And from Israel to the
Netherlands. Vogue is (finally) issuing a Dutch edition of the
magazine, to add to the 18 other international editions. I definitely have
a soft spot for anything Dutch, having lived in The Netherlands for a
while. Amsterdam is an exceptionally stylish city, and the people have a real sense of humour and play in the way they style themselves up. I hope that ability to not take themselves too seriously will work its way into the pages of Vogue Netherlands.
Thanks for stopping by guys! Dank Je!

political issue in this country. Well, the magazine now has the article
available online, so if you're interested please check it out here.

ReplyDeleteyou are super pretty lady! and that skirt is such a pop of happiness!
ReplyDeletei'm really intrigued by the outlawing of skinny models. i definitely agree that we need to put WAAAY less emphasize on women being so deathly skinny. why has that become our standard of beauty?! kind of sad.
happy thursday to you friend!

This outfit is so balanced between "tough" and pretty. I love it. It is so adorable and still not too adorable.
ReplyDeleteAnd about the model policy, while I think that an effort must be made to prevent models from trying to meet the ridiculous expectations, I think that outlawing displaying of underweight models will make those girls even more insecure. But the law about having to declare if an image is airbrushed I think could be very effective, because when girls see the airbrushed pictures, they don't even realize that the people are not actually that "perfect".
ReplyDeleteThe door in the background is truely impressive and really Dutch Vogue, wow I am sooo excited!
