I have mixed feelings. It was just ok. Don eventually turned back into a jerk. In fact, every character slipped back into their role from 17 months ago, which is fine I guess, but I think after such a long hiatus, we needed something with a bit more of a punch. Of course there was that ridiculous "Zoobie Zoobie Zoo" musical scene. I'm sure some thought it was a brilliant, sexy bit of television. But, I just found it uncomfortable and pretty goofy.
A few days ago, I shared a news story with you guys indicating Israel passed a bill that bans the use of underweight models and images in advertising. I've been invited to go on a radio talk show tonight to discuss this issue, so I'll spend a bit of time today getting a sense of what the reaction has been to this story. A few of you shared your opinions on this the first post, but if you didn't before please feel free to add your voice now. I'd love to include some of your thoughts in tonight's discussion.
Wish me luck tonight and thanks for stopping by! Let's have a great week guys!

This is a very classy get-up. I like it! I am in support of legislation such as what Israel has passed, as a measure of public protection. It's protection for the women that go into the modeling industry and protection for the girls that are influenced by them. There has been too much abuse of the female public in general by the modeling/fashion industry over the years. Young women, especially, as so vulnerable to the influence of a culture that promotes a dangerous body image.
ReplyDeleteAw good luck sweetie!!! I am sooo loving this look!!! So classic and chic with beautiful unexpected twists! I love how you styled the leopard print scarf with the striped top! :)

You look so amazing! Love the captoe shoes and every detail of your ensemble. Wow, that is a heavy topic you will be speaking on. The fashion industry perpetuates the idea that skinny is more beautiful and a lot of the images in magazines are so unrealistic. In the fashion industry I am considered plus size and I am 5'10 and wear a size 6. Isn't that crazy? I am glad to have discovered your blog and now following. Have a great show! I would love to hear how it goes.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck. I love your outfit, especially your shoes. And the ban will hopefully work to help increase self-esteem in young girls. However, I would hope that it will not make skinny models feel even more insecure.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous coat!! Love the back drop!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the talk radio show - how exciting!
ReplyDeleteAnd those DIY cap-toes are fantastic!
I'm really just so glad they're back they could have shot Jon Hamm's face for the entire 2 hours and I would've been hooked, lined, and sinker! :D
ReplyDeleteFabulous coat, I tell you this all the time but RED is totally your color!
