End of the day, lazy photo shoot, can you tell? You know, sometimes when I'm struggling to find someone to take my picture, and end up begging my sister, and rush to get the posts ready in time, I wonder what compels me to do this. And I talked about how the blog is an artistic expression in this post. But then you have to question the value of art itself. Well, the American writer, activist, and intellectual Kurt Vonnegut happened to come up at work yesterday. He offered a good answer - see below.
Vonnegut once wrote: 'Go into the arts. I'm not kidding. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven's sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possibly can, you will get an enormous reward. You will have created something.'"
These are words to live by guys. I hope you're all having a joy-filled and artistic weekend. I for one am very happy because I'm going to see my friend Mark, whom I haven't seen in weeks!
