Valentine's Red and Hearts

For most of us Valentine's Day is a day to express love to that special someone in our lives. It's about romantic love. But this makes some single folks feel bad, and for others it's nothing more than a cash grab. I have grown to love Valentine's Day, not because I love my husband (although I do), but because it's a day to celebrate love itself. So Valentine's Day is a day to express my love for all the loves of life. My husband, my wonderful parents, my sister, my large extended family, my crazy cousins, my wonderful friends some of whom I've known for 20 years and otherswho I just met last year...and my cat. Love for my environment, my home, my neighbourhood, the familiar strangers I see everyday on the bus and subway, at the coffee shop, in and around work. Love is all around us and it's worth celebrating. Heck, half the stuff I'm wearing was given as gifts of love. 

So Happy Valentine's Day Kids!
