If you're not familiar with Mountain Equipment Co-Op, it's an iconic Canadian retailer that specializes in outdoor equipment and clothing. Not exactly the kind of place I hang out, I'm a city slicker, I don't foresee any occasion for which I'll require hiking boots and sweat absorbing bathing suits. But I do respect the store and their co-op, environmentally conscious philosophy. Last weekend, I had to trek (see the outdoorsy reference?) to MEC to pick up walking/hiking poles for some workout gear for my dad. Both for use in his physiotherapy to walk normally after beating cancer last year. Anyway, because I love my dad, I'm here at MEC - like a real fish out of water. Thankfully my mom and sister came along. Moral support.
And success! We got dad his walking poles, and his new exercise shorts! Looking forward to walking into the store with you soon dad!
