Did you notice a certain someone rolling around under the bench in the picture above?
I went to see the parentals yesterday, and my mom very thoughtfully saved a section of the Toronto Star for me from Saturday which was dedicated to fashion and families. It was a series of articles on how mothers and daughters influence each other's styles; how the way we dress effects our roles and relationships within families; and stylish family heirlooms. It was sweet of her to save it for me, and of course it made me think of the way she has influenced her style, and I wonder what she thinks of me and some of my get-ups? Maybe if the Star creates another section like this in the future, I might just make a submission of my family and fashion.
What about you? Which member of your family has most influenced your style? And how?

I really like your sweater and your übercute necklace!
ReplyDeleteLove that necklace. I would say my older sister who is only 3 years apart from me probably influences me the most. We both like to get all dressed up and feel girly most of the time.

Love the bright colors in this look! And it's cute that your cat is making an appearance :) I really don't think any family members have influenced my look...they're just not as into fashion as I am!

I really like your fuschia top! That sounds like it was a really nice article. I have to say that my mother has most influenced my style. She has always put clothing items together in a unique way and accessorizes hats, belts and bags with ease.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good one Shen. Here is the main article from that section: http://www.thestar.com/living/fashion/article/1133510--generations-and-style-lessons-from-jeanne-beker-s-mother-and-daugthers
DeleteLove the necklace! You know i'm a huge sucker for jewelry!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous necklace! My grandmother and mother passed down their love of jewelry. It's actually more of an addiction. It's my favorite thing to buy and wear!
ReplyDeleteOur cats look exactly alike!

Wow! Lovely idea and how thoughtful of your mom. You should ask her about her opinions of you and share what she had to say.

ReplyDeleteLove the pink layers on you! So pretty :)
ReplyDeleteThat magenta color is glorious on your complexion!
ReplyDeletei think families definitely influence us - either to be similar or to be completely different. I've been a rebel so have veered the other way completely from everyone else in my family ( 4 sisters!) so perhaps the need was to be DIFFERENT. also being the youngest, pretty much everything i had was a hand-me-down so i had to be creative and change the way I wore these hand-me-downs. its funny though, now that we're all happily older and ourselves, I find myself looking around me, at them, and thinking, I wish i looked more like them! so perhaps we come full circle..these days i'd like to 'mimic' my older sisters..
ReplyDeletelovely blog and outfit!!! I am your new follower via google friend connect hope you can follow back so we can keep in touch!
