This dress has an interesting story. On a recent trip to Value Village, I found it on the rack. The colour isn't what I would normally be drawn to. But there was definitely something that spoke to me. As the dress and I were sessing each other out, whether we could fit into each other's lives, I realized that the dress was really well made. You could tell a lot of effort had been put into the seams, the details, the craftsmanship. I looked at the tag: Rag and Bone. I'd never heard of it. But with Chris's encouragment I decided to get it.
So on this day, when I finally decided to take my little grey Mod meets Military dress out for a spin, I decided to look up the label. Rag and Bone has some wonderful pieces at some very high prices. Their dresses run around $400 US. Guess how much I paid for my Rag and Bone acquisition. $4 CDN. Folks, it's good to pay attention to details and trust your instincts.
Now from Mod and Military to Mohamed from Mogadishu. The other evening I was in cab,and I noticed the cab driver, Mohamed, was wearing a blazer. I mentioned to him that he was dressed up, and that he looked nice. Mohamed said that it was important to dress well if you have a job because you're showing respect to your boss, to your clients, or customers, and ultimately you are showing self-respect because you take the time to care for yourself.
Wise words. So maybe you'll give a little thought to Mohamed next time you're feeling uninspired while getting dressed for work. It's all about respect.
